Before starting our gluten-free month long diet, my friend who is gluten-free told me that she tries to stay away from all of the gluten-free versions of her favorite treats…cookies, cakes, etc. Instead, she snacks on a lot of fruits and veggies.
I thought this was a really good point. Instead of trying to remake your past eating habits gluten-free, to just embrace foods that are naturally gluten-free…….
If only I had taken this advice………….
Last week, I watched an episode of Ace of Cakes and they were eating one of the cakes and talking about how moist it was. On Saturday, we celebrated our nephew’s birthday and my sister-in-law made a homemade chocolate cake and it looked soooo good but we couldn’t have any of it.
So, since it was Mother’s Day yesterday, my request was to go buy a gluten-free Betty Crocker cake mix. We did, I made it and it was AMAZING. Oh my gosh. We couldn’t believe it was gluten-free. It was the perfect end to a great day.
Anyway, I just wanted to admit that I’ve been a bad gluten-free dieteer…finding ways to sneak around and eat pancakes and cake and icecream to my heart’s delight. =)
